M&G Chemicals PET/PTA Facility in Corpus Christi
M&G Chemicals’ PET/PTA facilities will be located on the north side of the Corpus Christi Inner Harbor along the southern coast of Texas. The property sits within the boundaries of the Port of Corpus Christi, the fifth largest port (total tonnage) in the nation.
Corpus Christi was identified as a prime location because of its exceptional highway, rail and deep-water access and its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. The area also offers availability of utilities and a local presence of primary raw materials suppliers.
The PET plant throughput will be one million metric tons per year, making it the largest PET production facility in the world. The PTA plant will also be a state of the art production resource, producing 1.2 million metric tons per year. PTA, purified terephthalic acid, is the primary raw material used to make PET.
M&G Chemicals' plant is strategically located in the Port of Corpus Christi’s Inner Harbor with exceptional rail, deep-water and highway access, as well as proximity to the Gulf of Mexico.
